Molly and Eric's Day at Cataldo Mission In North Idaho

The oldest standing building in Idaho was the place where Molly and Eric chose to start their marriage.

Cataldo Mission was started by the Jesuits back in the 1800s to serve the native american population in Northern Idaho.  The mission, once populated by hundreds, and at one time thousands, now sits quietly as a state park just outside the resort town of Kellog.  It is still a Catholic church, but is only used for special occasions as such.  The rest of the year it is a great stopping off point for tourists who are traveling through Northern Idaho on their way to another part of the world.

Molly grew up in Kellog, and was always taken by the rustic beauty of the building and the grounds.  Being true lovers of the outdoors (their first date was snow shoeing) Eric and Molly couldn't imagine a more amazing place to get married.

Of  course, there were modern comforts as well.  The wedding party was able to get dressed in the comfort of the park's modern facility below.  But, the event quickly progressed up the hill to the church and the amazing grounds. The ceremony was short for a Catholic wedding, but Fr. Lyle Konen, the great uncle of the bride kept things moving along so that everyone could get back outside to the sunshine and soft breezes.

After the ceremony the wedding reception was held at the Elks club in Wallace, Idaho.  Everyone ate, visited, and kicked up their heels until the day was done and the sun sunk over the mountain side.

Eric and Molly rode off in the mountain sunset to start their honeymoon at Silver Mountain resort and then off to Glacier Park to enjoy each other and the great outdoors.  Best wishes to Eric and Molly!!

Tyler and Kaylin's Day At Moore Mansion

We've known Kaylin and her family since she was a little girl.  Playing dress up with our daughter and even role playing wedding days when the dresses and the moods were right.  Little did we know that we'd have the pleasure of photographing her wedding all these years later.

Storybook from beginning to end, the wedding was held at Moore Mansion in Pasco.  A truly beautiful old building that sits near the Columbia River under the monumental Blue Bridge.

The day was filled with family, friends, and tons of fun.  Perfect weather for the Tri-Cities in August with sunshine, a light breeze, and right around 90 degrees.  You honestly couldn't ask for better.

One of the most important things of the day was that the bride and groom wanted to just have fun with their pictures.  Not much was taken in the way of old fashioned and traditional.  We were on an adventure to make images that were fun and sometimes kind of outrageous.

The wedding party and guests had a great time playing croquet on the lawn.  We captured some amazing images of the couple both indoors and outside.  Moore Mansion offers so many great places to pose for both fun as well as romantic shots.

Right after the wedding ceremony the bride and groom jumped into "Miss Daisy" a limo operated by 4 star limousine, and we drove over to a spot just down river where we could have a vantage point of the bridges.  We got some great images of the couple in and out of the limo.

The food by Castle Catering was exquisite as usual.  A multi-course Italian meal with wine from Chandler Reach winery and beer from Ice Harbor.

All weddings have a "first" in them for us.  This wedding offered us our first flash mob dance.  The parents started the dance as scheduled, and then suddenly all the guests jumped onto the dance floor area to perform a full out flash mob performance for the shocked bride and groom.  It was amazing to experience!!

The night ended with dancing to the music provided by Moore Mansion's own DJ team, with french fries and other fried delicacies from Castle Catering.

Richard & Lauren's Wedding

Richard & Lauren
7/30/11

We ventured off to capture images of Richard and Laurens’ wedding at Cameo Heights where the weather was very warm but not as hot as it historically has been. The ceremony was fun and calm with a bride who had lots of southern charm from having spent her childhood in the south, and a groom who was poised and composed.

The attendants of this wedding were siblings of the bride and groom. A new and unconventional trend that we're seeing in weddings this year has the attendants switching gender roles.  Groomswomen and Bridesmen are the new rage!  Richard had his two sisters on his side while Lauren had her sister stand next to her for the ceremony. As for the flower girl and ring bearer, they could have very well been professionals they were so put together and, (of course) adorable!

All in all it was a gorgeous wedding that was enjoyable to have photographed and been a part of! The sunset was gorgeous which just made dancing to the 80’s music poolside that much more enjoyable! Great lead into the month of August! Hope everyone enjoys their end of the summer weather!

Senior Portraits

Senior Portraits: Sara Taylor

Since we’ve had so many senior sessions lately we decided we wanted to have one of our past senior ambassadors write about what it was like being a model for us! So here is a post from Sara Taylor about her experience working with us for her senior portraits.

Working with Breshears Professional Photography was a wonderful experience that truly made having my senior pictures taken both fun and memorable! I always knew that when it came to my senior pictures I would call Breshears Professional Photography because both of my brothers had theirs taken with them and I thought to myself “well if they had theirs done with Breshears I want mine done there too!” So of course when it came time to actually do the photos I was both excited and nervous. Excited to take the first step to becoming a senior and nervous over what to wear and bring to the shoot!

Thankfully when I spoke to Mary Ann Breshears on the phone about the session to set up a time she gave me some great ideas of what to wear and bring with me! I was probably most excited about being able to bring my puppy to the session with me for some of the photos because one of my brothers had brought his dog, so again the whole “well if he did it I want to” feeling kicked in!

With the session being both indoors and out they had me bring three outfits that I liked best (and that my mom approved of) along with some of my own props so that the photos could capture parts of my personality. I was thrilled when they said I could bring props because I immediately knew what I wanted to bring with me: my color guard flag, my saxophone, my guitar, and of course, my puppy!

The session was a blast and was nearly two hours long (though it seemed to go by quickly) and I laughed a lot! I was eager to see the finishing product of the photos taken and counted down the days to my photo viewing. I think I just about broke my face smiling when I watched my photo video! It was very well put together and had music to it that reflected my personality very well! (I must have watched it ten times in a row looking at all the photos!)

Seeing the final photos all put together and having to choose which I wanted as my senior picture was difficult because there were so many amazing photos! All the different effects of black and white photos as well as sepia and different color tones made it that much harder to decide which picture I wanted in the year book and what ones I wanted to buy for my family and friends!

After choosing all the different photos we chose the package we wanted and with having the portraits on a viewing CD we also ordered later in the year my graduation announcements. These had a photo on it so that family members that hadn’t gotten a picture could still have one and have an invite to the graduation as well!

When all was said and done I loved the entirety of having my senior portraits taken with Breshears Professional Photography and had a wonderful time working with them!
